There was a time when etiquette was often associated with knowing which fork to use at dinner or how to write the perfect thank-you note. While those traditions still have value, the world has changed. And so has the way we connect with one another.

That’s why I’m excited to introduce the next chapter of this journey: Learn2ReadtheRoom.

This new name reflects a broader mission. My purpose is to help people develop the awareness, confidence, and communication skills to navigate life’s many environments with authenticity and respect.

Every room has its own rhythm.

Whether you’re stepping onto a college campus, interviewing for your first job, attending a networking event, leading a meeting, or simply having a conversation with someone who sees the world differently than you do, success often depends on something that isn’t written in a handbook: the ability to read the room.

Reading the room means paying attention. It means listening before speaking. It means recognizing the emotions, perspectives, and unspoken expectations that shape every interaction. It’s the practice of showing empathy, extending grace, and treating others with dignity, even when opinions differ.

As technology continues to transform how we communicate, our ability to connect as human beings becomes even more valuable. Emails replace conversations. Text messages replace phone calls. Artificial intelligence helps us work more efficiently. Yet none of these tools can replace kindness, emotional intelligence, active listening, or genuine presence.

These are the qualities that build trust, strengthen relationships, and open doors.

As we move through 2026, my goal is to help students, professionals, organizations, and families strengthen these timeless skills in practical, meaningful ways. Together, we’ll explore professional presence, communication, confidence, workplace etiquette, leadership, and the everyday habits that leave lasting impressions.

If you’re looking to continue growing in this area, I encourage you to add a few thoughtful reads to your bookshelf. How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie remains a classic reminder that genuine interest in others is one of the greatest relationship-building skills we can develop. For those interested in strengthening emotional intelligence, Emotional Intelligence 2.0 by Travis Bradberry and Jean Greaves offers practical strategies for becoming more self-aware and socially aware in every setting.

The future belongs to those who can communicate with clarity, lead with empathy, and treat others with respect.

That’s the heart of Learn2ReadtheRoom.

Thank you for being part of this new chapter. I look forward to learning, growing, and reading the room together.

If you’re ready to strengthen your communication skills, prepare for college or the workplace, or invest in your professional presence, I’d love to work with you. Whether you’re interested in one-on-one coaching, workshops, or organizational training, let’s start the conversation and discover how stronger interpersonal skills can create lasting opportunities.

Here’s to a year of confidence, connection, and meaningful communication.

Best, Penny Aviotti
